Update from the Fan

Hey guys, it's Alex. Life has been crazy here the last few months, so that's why we haven't updated. Mom's dad had to go to the hospital in July, he's fine but he scared us half to death. Then Mom spent a week in the hospital in August and Michaela and Peyton stayed with her. About two months ago we got a new sister and we just found out that we have another sister coming in a week or so. If you lost count, that makes THIRTEEN of us kids! I have to get going now, Saige and I have a busy day of volunteering at the hospital tomorrow!.

Venting

Hey guys, it's Casey. Yeah I know this is like my third post in a row and I should let some of the other girls have a turn, but I just needed to vent. I'm sick and tired of everything being difficult for me. Just Once in my life I wish something came easy to me. None of the other girls get it. They try to cheer me up by saying that everyone struggles at something, and it works for a little bit, but they don't have to work twice  as hard to be half as good at things, and there are even some things that they complain that they "have" to do that I can't do and it makes me really mad. Anyway I should get going. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Craziness

Hey, it's Casey. It's been both quiet and crazy here. I'm getting glasses on Thursday, Mom might need new ones, and she's starting physical therapy tomorrow. I don't know how we're going to manage to get through all the appointments and stuff. On top of that, Mom might be switching beds this week which means moving furniture... Oh well. Guess I better get to bed!

Hey guys, it's me Michaela. The last few weeks have been a little bit crazy. Mom adopted another new sister for the family last week and we've been getting to know her better. Her name is Olivia. So far she seems pretty cool; Peyton, Casey, and I have been hanging out  with her and making sure she gets adjusted okay. It wasn't that long ago that Peyton and I were the new kids. Mom's been having a rough time recently with some real scary changes that have occurred. She knows they're normal, but still doesn't like them, but we're all just rallying around her as best we can. Peyton and I have been spending all of our spare time with her because she seems like she needs it. Speaking of, I better go. Later!

New siblings???

Hey guys, it's Jordan. Mom is crazy. She went to Target last month to get something for Easter, and came home with that plus our newest sister! She's really cool. Her name is Logan and she and Charlie have gotten really close. Mom's been talking about bringing home Grace to live with us, but it hasn't happened yet. Well I gotta go kick Erin's butt at Mario Kart Wii! Later!

Hospital advice

Every once in a while girls get sick or injured and have to be in the hospital. I know from experience that hospitals can be scary, especially when you don't know what's going on. That's why I always have at least one of my American Girl dolls with me in the hospital, for comfort and company. This post will explain how to best pack your doll and her things so she can come with you.
The first and most important step is to decide which doll is coming with you. You'll want to bring one that is easy to care for but is also one of your favorites. Keep an eye on her though! Next you'll want to decide what clothes to pack for her. I have a Ziploc bag in my box of doll stuff and it has two days worth of clothes and accessories for each doll, plus a sleeping bag and pillow for them. I would recommend doing something like this if you're like me and you have to go to the emergency room sometimes. It's good to have that ready and in a place where you can grab it quickly and go when you're really sick.
Other times you may know ahead of time that you have to be in the hospital. Maybe you need an operation  or medicine to make you feel better. If that's the case, spend time thinking about what you want to take and get it packed so you're not stressed the day you go to the hospital. I recommend picking things that can be combined in many ways to save space and so you won't have too much to keep up with while you don't feel well. Also, definitely Do Not pack anything  small or that you otherwise wouldn't want to get dirty, lost, or stolen.
Finally, if you know you have to be in the hospital for an operation or for special medicine and your hospital has a tour for new patients, bringing your doll along on the tour will make it easier for both of you and may even give you something other than your illness or injury to talk about with the doctors and nurses! 😂 I hope that these tips help you if you ever have to be  in the hospital, and if you're reading this post from the hospital, please know that you are in my prayers!

Updates

Hey guys, Casey  here. I thought I'd update you guys on the last few months really quick. There hasn't been a lot of downtime since Mom's first post because she got sick and had to go to the hospital right after Christmas. Charlie had a cold so I stayed home and helped to take care of her while Michaela and Peyton stayed at the hospital with Mom. After Mom came home, she was on IV antibiotics for a couple of weeks, and when she got off those, she caught a cold that turned into pneumonia and she's just now getting better. So we've been pretty busy keeping Mom healthy and happy, but she loves us and we love her. She's been through a lot and she's been helping me with my own struggles too, but that's a blog that will have to wait till another day.
